EdenRidge Work Weekends
Why work weekends?
While some people want to volunteer at EdenRidge for longer periods of time, work weekends provide opportunities for those who can come for a weekend to help out. It's a great way to discover the EdenRidge property, enjoy great fellowship, and help out with various projects at the site.
What is the cost?
Work weekends are free. You simply need to pay your way to and from Crossville. Mission to Missionaries takes care of the food.
What should you bring?
You should bring appropriate clothing, gloves, and any tools you have that might be helpful for the project
on which you will be working
. If you plan on camping, you'll need to bring your camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, etc).
What is the schedule like?
Participants should arrive anytime Friday afternoon. An evening cookout and hike (weather permitting) will be organized. Saturday will be spent working at the site, followed by a cookout and evening activities. On Sunday, there will be a devotional in the morning, after which most people will want to leave depending on how far they have to drive to get back home. Those who want to work more on Sunday are certainly welcome to do so.
Where will you sleep?
One of our projects this year is to build a utility building, which will include space for volunteer housing. While that's exciting, this facility won't be available this spring. In the meantime, we encourage people to camp either by the creek or at the Phase 1 site. Both provide plenty of great camping sites. If camping isn't your thing, housing is available at homes in Fairfield Glade.
Is health insurance required?
Mission to Missionaries requires that all volunteers have health insurance. Prior to the weekend, you will be asked to provide basic health and insurance information in the event of an emergency.
